The Guides
KMAC staff are more than just guides -- they are role models. They are teachers, child care professionals, and outdoor activity specialists. All are mature, outgoing and committed to the KMAC philosophy and mission. We build on their rich personal experience with extensive staff training. We strive by role modeling and direct action to teach the importance to have passion and integrity in our daily lives, hoping that our future leaders will be able to make decisions that come from their hearts as well as their minds. Minimum age for lead staff is 23. Most all of our senior guides have college degrees and are certified Wilderness First Responders. |

Reed Woodford
Reed has been enjoying the outdoors all of his life. Since moving to Colorado there has been a lot more to enjoy. His spontaneity has taken him on climbing and backpacking trips throughout the American west, Midwest, and Mexico. Although he enjoys most types of climbing, his favorite is getting up while it’s still dark for a full day of alpine climbing. Reed holds a bachelors degree in Elementary / Middle School Education from U. of Northern Iowa and has been working with youth for most of his adult life. His favorite part about working with KMAC is that he gets to share his love of climbing and the outdoors with his students. In addition to guiding, Reed is also the Office Manager at KMAC. There’s always at least one person laughing when he starts telling jokes while on course.

Mitch Musci
Mitch grew up in Austin Texas. He moved to Colorado for college, attending both Colorado State University in Fort Collins and Western State College in Gunnison, studying Outdoor Recreation. Mitchell returns for a 4th summer at KMAC with increased levels of distortion and cheesy pasta. He has taken on the role as Anchor Construction and Maintenance Technical Specialist, expanding KMAC climbing sites and improving existing ones with modern hardware. Pitching his tent on KMAC property in late March, he has endured some cold weather for the sake of KMAC and it's incredible 2008 season. Mitchell's 8 years of climbing experience, combined with his undergraduate degree in Outdoor Leadership, make him a great asset to KMAC's already stellar lineup of guides. He is looking forward to another great summer in the Estes Park Valley full of steep climbing and lots of pizza.

Adam Baxter
Adam traces his roots back to Atlanta, Georgia, a place that still inspires fond memories of fried chicken and sweet tea. However, after a NOLS mountaineering course in the Wind River Range of Wyoming in 2002 he heard the mountains calling his name and moved to Colorado to pursue a degree in Rock Climbing, Road Tripping and Snowboarding. However, during his time off from his scholastic pursuits he managed to learn a thing or two about Philosophy of Religion and Outdoor Recreation and Tourism, eventually completing a degree in the latter. A semester at NOLS geared towards Outdoor Education in 2005 prepared him for work as a professional outdoor educator. Adam has been climbing for 5 years now and has worked as an instructor for Moon dance Adventures and Outward Bound in his pursuit for a post college home where he can practice Outdoor Education and enjoy the simple things in life. He is looking forward to what he hopes to be the first of many summers with KMAC up in Estes Park.
