ELC Environmental Course Clothing and Equipment List

 

Spring in the mountains can have temperatures in the 80's in the day, to below freezing at night.  Although most days are pleasant, be prepared for rain, snow, wind, and cold, as well as hot temperatures. 

 

KMAC provides participants with the following items:  Tents, kitchen, food, climbing gear             

 

Participants must provide personal clothing items. 

You must have: 

_____sleeping bag and ground pad

_____comfortable footwear                                                                                                                                             

_____socks                                                                                                                                                                            

_____ underwear                                                                                            

_____ warm pants

_____ shorts    

_____ mid-weight top (wool, fleece, pile, or other synthetic)

_____ heavy-weight top (wool, fleece, pile, or other synthetic)

_____ wind shell and/or rain coat

_____ t-shirts 

_____ wool or fleece hat  (1)

_____ sun hat (baseball cap with visor work well)

_____ washcloth, toothbrush, comb/brush, general toiletries

_____ bowl, plate, eating utensils

_____ sunglasses

_____ sunscreen, lip balm (SPF 15 or greater)

_____ journal and pencil

_____ headlamp or small flashlight

_____ 2 wide mouth water bottles

_____ small day pack

 

Optional:  camera, Teva-type sandals, folding camp chair

Students may bring their own tents.

 

Do not bring the following:  Alcoholic beverages, tobacco products
